The first started around 1:30 a.m. on the city’s east side. A suspect led officers on a chase at 100 miles per hour on the interstate at one point. The driver, Michael Jones, then crashed at East 21st and University.

Just minutes later officers responded to another chase. This one started on 24th Street and ended in the 2600 block of Hickman when the suspect, 18-year-old Kairon Williams of Florida, exited the vehicle and took off on foot.

Officers caught up with Williams a short time later in a garage in the 2400 block of Prospect and he was taken into custody.

He is charged with eluding, 3rd degree burglary, interference with official acts, failure to have a valid license, and traffic violations.
