CLIVE, Iowa — The city of Clive is trying to prevent another waterlogged summer.
Last year sand bags were put out too late to stop Walnut Creek from spreading into homes and businesses. Now the city council is making a plan to get the ball rolling sooner next time.
The new plan will let the city activate emergency operations earlier in the creek rising process.
They’re also streamlining their process for street closures and emergency notifications so people can prepare.
