MAXWELL, Iowa -- Law enforcement officials have made an arrest following a threat that prompted all Collins-Maxwell Schools to go on lockdown Wednesday.

High school principal Jordan Nelson said that the schools were placed on lockdown after a parent made a threat to several school staff members.

District officials said the lockdown was lifted around noon after officials arrested 46-year-old Ortan Haywood, who was wanted on a warrant out of Texas. He has not been charged with the threat incident, which is still under investigation.

Haywood is currently in the Dallas County Jail.
