OSKALOOSA, Iowa — Four fire departments were called in to help put out a fire at a vacant apartment building in Oskaloosa late Wednesday nights.

The fire at 610 North C St. was reported around midnight. Firefighters say within about five minutes of arriving at the fire, the building was fully engulfed in flame.

The building had been condemned so no one was living there at the time.

Crews from New Sharon, Freemont, and Pella assisted the Oskaloosa Fire Department on the scene. It took firefighters about five hours to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
