DuPont Pioneer and Origin Agritech Limited announced a commercial licensing agreement to develop new seed technology for Chinese farmers.

The effort looks to modernize China's agriculture system and has support from the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and its Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Origin says it has developed corn seeds with insect control and herbicide tolerance traits, but adding DuPont's 90 year plant breeding history will create new options.

DuPont and Origin are submitting biotechnology traits to the Chinese government approval process.
