DES MOINES, Iowa –Iowa is stepping back into the political spotlight this weekend.

Saturday, district conventions will bring together thousands of Republicans from four separate districts.

They’ll then hand pick which delegates will go on to represent Iowa at the national convention.

Of Iowa’s 30 delegates, just 12 will make the cut. Which 12 they pick could be crucial if no Republican candidate is able to secure the outright nomination and it goes to a vote.

The convention is scheduled for mid-July in Cleveland, Ohio.
