Authorities ID Woman Struck by Car in Mahaska County

MAHASKA COUNTY, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Public Safety released the name of the victim who was killed in Mahaska County on Thursday.

Authorities say 24-year-old Courtney Christine Moore, of What Cheer, was struck by a car Thursday morning at 1242 Yale Avenue in Barnes City.

The person driving the vehicle has been identified as 26-year-old Trenton Dwayne Garber, of Montezuma. Authorities say Garber is the victim’s ex-boyfriend.

An autopsy was performed by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner. Final autopsy results could take up to six weeks.

Authorities did not say if Garber will face charges.
