DES MOINES, Iowa -- Monday is decision day for Des Moines' growing food truck fleet.

The city council holds a final vote Monday night on whether to expand the pilot program into six new city parks.

The proposal would allow food trucks at Greenwood Park, Ashworth Park, Union Park, Grandview Park, Ewing Park and MacRae Park. They could only operate between April 1 and October 31 and must have a permit with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. Permits cost $200 for the season or $25 for a single day permit.

This is the council’s third vote on the proposal. The first two were both approved.
