URBANDALE, Iowa -- The Iowa State Patrol works every day to ensure drivers are safe on the road. But on Thursday, deputies gathered with a local hospital to help parents make sure they're doing everything they can to ensure safety inside their cars.
Officials from Blank Children's Hospital joined local law enforcement and troopers at Bob Brown Chevrolet in Urbandale to check child safety seats in cars.
“Some parents are very shocked and some people are just unaware of proper installation techniques,” said Alex Dinkla, an Iowa State Patrol trooper.
Certified technicians were there to help parents and child caregivers be sure their seats are installed correctly before hitting the open road.
