DES MOINES, Iowa — Law enforcement officials say they’ve made one arrest in connection with a shooting at a nightclub back in November that left a Des Moines man dead, but are still seeking several witnesses in the case.

Twenty-year-old Dashawn Smith died November 8, 2015 after a shooting outside the now-closed Evolution Nightclub at 4397 NW 6th Drive. Three other people were injured in the shooting but survived.

Officials say the shooting was the result of a fight outside the club and more than one shooter was involved. Using surveillance video they were able to identify 27-year-old Mykael Maggett as one of the people who shot into the crowd outside the nightclub.

Maggett was arrested April 25th and is charged with displaying a dangerous weapon and intimidation with a dangerous weapon. He is free on bond.

Officials are now asking for the public to help them identify several people they need to interview about the shooting. They’ve released photos of the witnesses you can view in the gallery below.

If you have any information about the witnesses or the shooting you’re asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa at 223-1400.
