DES MOINES, Iowa – For the second year in a row, Des Moines is getting a taste of Comic Con.

The Wizard World Comic Con is back at Hy-Vee Hall this weekend, featuring hundreds of vendors, exhibitors, and artists. Everything from superheroes, sci-fi stars, and fantasy heroes will be in full force for the three-day event. Organizers say there’s something for everyone, including actor panels, video game tournaments, and a chance to win the Wizard World Des Moines Costume Contest Saturday night.

The 19-city tour added Des Moines to its list last year, and thanks to a startling turnout, it’s back for more.

“Almost unlike any other city on our tour, Des Moines completely embraced us,” said Jerry Milani, spokesman for Wizard World Comic Con. “From the moment we landed to come and see whether Des Moines would be a right city for us.”

The convention kicks off Friday at 3 p.m. and goes through Sunday. Tickets and more information can be found here.
