‘Comic Con’ Back in Des Moines this Weekend

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Downtown Des Moines will look a little different this weekend. Thousands of fans will be dressed as their favorite superheroes and comic book characters as Wizard World Comic Con is set to invade the Iowa Event Center on Friday. This will be second time the event has come to Des Moines and organizers are excited to be back.

“The turnout was amazing last year,” said Jerry Milani, Wizard World Comic Con. “For years, people have been telling us we need to come to Des Moines. Last year, we finally did and it couldn’t have been better.”

Wizard World comic and gaming con events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop-fi, pop culture, movies, graphic novels, cosplay, comics, television, sci-fi, toys, video gaming, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more.

Wizard World is also the place for cosplay, with fans young and old showing off their best costumes throughout the event.  Fans dressed as every imaginable character will roam the convention floor. There will also be a costume contest on Saturday night.
