DES MOINES, Iowa -- A Chicago man was booked into Polk County Jail on charges related to a drive-by shooting at a cookout earlier this month.

Twenty-year-old Devonte Colbert is charged with attempted murder and intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

The charges stem from a shooting May 15 while friends were barbecuing in the 1500 block of 16th Street. Police say an SUV with three people in it pulled up to the house and started firing. Colbert was believed to be driving at the time.

One man was hit in the chest. He was taken to the hospital but survived.

Police have not publicly named any other suspects in the shooting.
