One Person Shot in Leg Wednesday Morning

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Des Moines police are investigating a shooting that injured one person early Wednesday morning.

Officers in the area of the 1800 block of 22nd Street heard shots fired shortly after 2 a.m. Several calls also came into police about the shooting.

A gunshot victim, 25-year-old Robert Ollie, showed up at Broadlawns Hospital shortly after the shooting. Police say he was shot in the leg and is expected to survive.

Witnesses told police a possible suspect in the shooting took off in a car.

Police were able to recover shell casings from the scene as well as the 1600 block of 22nd Street.

Police say the victim of the shooting is being uncooperative.
