ALTOONA, Iowa — Prairie Meadows Casino officials have a big discussion ahead of them Wednesday.

Board members are coming together to discuss the IRS’ crippling decision to take away the casino’s tax exempt status.

That will take the casino from a non-profit business to a for-profit business. It also puts hundreds of millions of dollars in donations to the community in jeopardy.

The item board members will tackle Wednesday is whether or not to make public  the 2014 audit that caused all of this. Something in the results prompted the IRS to decide prairie meadows should not continue operating as a non-profit.

We’ll let you know as soon as we get word on that decision.
