72 years ago Monday, more than 160,000 allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, broke through German lines, and opened a second front which marked the beginning of the end of the second World War.
This weekend, thousands from around the world traveled to Normandy to remember that day, including the Iowa State University marching band.
More than 100 band members have spent the last few days performing at ceremonies across France.
On Monday, they posted a Youtube video of one of the performances, which occurred at the Normandy American Cemetery at Omaha Beach.
The Cyclone marching band also performed at the Brittany American Cemetery and in the D-Day Memorial Parade.
The band will be wrapping up its European trip with a performance in Paris near the Eiffel Tower.
