CLARION, Iowa — A Clarion man is behind bars after authorities say he produced and shared child pornography.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Tuesday at the Clarion home of 25-year-old Skyler Wyatt after the department was contacted by the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of a case in Missouri with a potential victim and suspect in Clarion.
During the search, law enforcement officers seized several electronic devices. Police found that Wyatt knowingly caused a minor to be photographed in a prohibited sexual act. Wyatt had saved the files and shared them with another person.
He was arrested Thursday and charged with sexual exploitation of a minor. He was booked into the Wright County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
“Any time a crime, especially of this nature, impacts a child we take it seriously and use all the resources we have available to us to ensure the safety and well-being of the children involved,” said Wright County Sheriff Jason Schluttenhofer.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the ICAC Task Force, Clarion Police Department, Webster County Cyber Crime Unit, the Wright County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa Department of Human Services.
