DES MOINES, Iowa -- The weather on Sunday was perfect for a drive or a car show at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
The Good Guys Heartland National Car Show had its final day of the event as more than 4,500 vehicles were on display at the fairgrounds.
"It's the best three-day show around, there is a lot of stuff to look at, great people, atmosphere and fireworks," said Mike Pierce, a Colfax resident. "It's just an all-around great time for the family for the whole weekend. "
The rule of this show is no cars newer than a 1972 model are allowed, except for Sunday when any American car can be registered. Every year, the show brings car lovers from the around the country and the midwest.
"I enjoy the people, you meet a lot of nice people and a lot of people you've never met before," said Seven Goedde. "We are all car guys and gear heads and yeah it's great, I love it."
This is the 25th year for the event.
