AFTON, Iowa -- Seven inches of rain fell in Redding, located in southern Ringgold County as an early morning storm dumped a deluge on various parts of Adair, Union, and Ringgold.
"Anywhere from three to six inches across the county,” said Teresa Jackson, Ringgold County Emergency Management Coordinator. “Emergency management coordinators have been calling and saying, 'Teresa what can we do help you'which is amazing, but at this time all we have is some minor damage.”
In Union County, the three-mile lake drain was gushing water into a floodway green area in Creston.
"It was at 4 a.m. and you pretty much jumped out of the bed because it was thundering really hard,” said Gabrielle Borrall of Afton. "When I left the house this morning at about 9 a.m. I showed 4.5 inches in my gauge."
