Bloom and Silk Stage Nearly Done

It was relatively dry across the state, about 5.5 days good enough for fieldwork according to the Iowa Crop Progress Report.
About 95% of the corn crop is at the silking stage, five days ahead of last year and nearly two weeks ahead of the five-year average; while around 35% of the corn reached the dough stage. There are some reports of corn starting to dent. The corn crop is rated 83% good or excellent.
Beans are well along too: 90% are blooming,  about six days ahead of last year, and 64% of soybeans were setting pods, about five days ahead of last year. Soybean conditions rated 83% good to excellent.
