PELLA, Iowa – A Pella mother has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the death of her daughter.
Anna Sothman, 28, has been charged with child endangerment causing death following the June death of her 13-month-old daughter, Elaine.
On June 20, Pella Police responded to a home on a report of an unresponsive girl. The girl was transferred to Blank Children’s Hospital where she died on June 23.
Investigators from the Pella Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation say that Anna left Elaine unsupervised in a bathtub of running water for more than 30 minutes.
Anna entered a guilty plea Friday in Marion County Court. She is currently being held in the Marion County Jail.
