Body Pulled from Des Moines River in Pleasant Hill

PLEASANT HILL, Iowa -- A body was pulled from the Des Moines River Monday afternoon.

A passerby called 9-1-1 after spotting the body in the water near the Vandalia Boat Ramp in Pleasant Hill.

Police say it was a body of a man, but they do not know the identity of the person.

The medical examiner will perform an autopsy.

The case will be referred to Des Moines Police.
