Iowa Child’s Gun Range Death Believed to be Accidental

GARNER, Iowa — Police are investigating the death of a child who was shot and killed by a pellet gun in northern Iowa.

Cade Hartwig, 10, died following the incident at a gun range in Garner August 14th.

Authorities believe the boy was accidentally shot in the head. Hartwig was at the range with his younger brother and grandfather.

Hartwig’s visitation scheduled for Friday in his hometown of Clear Lake and his funeral is Saturday.

No charges are expected to be filed in the case.
