Police Release Name of Man Shot in Face

DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police have released the name of a man injured in a Thursday night shooting.

Police were called the Oakview Terrace apartments in the 3200 block of 30th around 9:45 p.m. on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found Mark Thompson suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

Thompson was able to communicate with first responders on the scene and he was transported to a local hospital. Police say his injuries are non-life threatening.

Investigators were on the scene gathering evidence until around 11:30 p.m.

No arrests have been made in the case.
