DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police have arrested a man involved in a chase with officers Monday.

Police say they tried to pull over Josh Hildebrand, 34, early Monday morning but he sped up leading them on a chase around the Highland and Oak Park neighborhoods.

The chase ended when Hildebrand pulled into a driveway in the 3200 block of 1st Street and took off on foot. Police say he was found in a nearby home.

Hildebrand was wanted on probation violations. He now also faces charges of eluding, 2nd degree criminal mischief, and driving on a suspended license.

Hildebrand is being held in the Polk County Jail.

Police say several thousand dollars worth of damage was done to the police car during the chase due to rocks spun up from the roadway by the tires on Hildebrand’s truck.
