URBANDALE, Iowa -- The search for two fugitives out of Warren County ended with arrests following a three-vehicle crash causing several injuries Monday night.

Authorities were searching for 23-year-old Scott Grimes and his girlfriend, 19-year-old Kayla Schultz. Grimes had escaped from the Warren County Jail on Aug. 14 and police say he picked up Schultz, who was also wanted, in the process.

An FBI Task Force located them Monday at around 6 p.m. in the metro but say the pair refused to pull over their vehicle, took off and ended up being part of a three-car crash near 63rd Street and Meredith Avenue in Urbandale.Capture

Police at the scene could only say several people were hospitalized. They did not know their conditions.

Grimes and Schultz were both arrested at the scene.

Prior to his escape, Grimes was being held on charges of assaulting a peace officer, theft, burglary, possession of a controlled substance and providing false information.
