GRIMES, Iowa -- Fans of the Johnston Little League team that made it all the way to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania gathered at the Food Depot Bar and Grill in Grimes for a watch party, when the team played the Chula Vista, California team on Friday.

"My son Donny is friends with a lot of the boys on the team, and we really have enjoyed watching them get all the way to the World Series. It’s amazing and we get to watch them enjoy themselves and achieve some of the dreams that they’ve had," said Laura Henderson, a mother from Johnston. "It`s amazing to get a team there for the first time...from Johnston is amazing. (I'm) very proud of the team. They`ve done amazing. We`ve watched them every game that we can, and it`s just been really exciting for the whole community," said Henderson.

"I have a couple of youngsters in the league, that I coach both their teams, so I’m just continuing to enjoy the spirit of baseball, so I’m just out here to support Johnston. We live in Johnston. That’s what we want to do," said Mike Lacour, a father and coach from Johnston. "Oh, I think for the league, I think it means a whole bunch. I think from my standpoint as a coach and trying to support the whole, as we go up through high school, just bring up the spirit of baseball, enjoy the game for what it is, from a league standpoint, I think it`s huge," said Lacour.
