ATF Executes Federal Search Warrants at 20 Locations in Des Moines Area

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Twenty locations were searched in the Des Moines area Thursday after federal warrants were executed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

John Ham, a public information officer for the bureau, says the raids were in connection with a federal drug and weapons investigation. He confirms the ATF, along with help from local law enforcement agencies, made several arrests during the raids.

Ham says execution of the warrants began early Thursday morning.

The locations of the raids were released by the U.S. Attorney's Office Thursday morning. The majority of the searches were in Des Moines, but some were also in Urbandale and Clive.

Warrants were executed at:

300 block of Granger Avenue, Des Moines

1100 block of Burnham Avenue, Des Moines

1400 block of East 9th Street, Des Moines

1400 block of Des Moines Street, Des Moines

1400 block of East 32nd Street, Des Moines

1600 block of East 31st Street, Des Moines

1800 block of Lay Street, Des Moines

3200 block of Hull Avenue, Des Moines

3800 block of East 14th Street, Des Moines

700 block of Broad Street, Des Moines

2600 block of Oxford Street, Des Moines

2500 block of N.E. Broadway Avenue, Des Moines

2800 block of Indianola Avenue, Des Moines

3200 block of Indianola Avenue, Des Moines

4100 block of 57th Street, Des Moines

4100 block of 55th Street, Urbandale

6700 block of Madison Avenue, Urbandale

7500 block of Canterbury Road, Urbandale

8100 block of Harbach Boulevard, Clive

8300 block of Alice Avenue, Clive

The U.S. Attorney's Office says information on those arrested and charges will not be released until the documents have been filed with the court.
