The Department of Agriculture announced more funding for farm operating loans.

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) says the funding will help out 1,900 approved applicants.

The funds give the USDA $185 million dollars in additional lending for direct and guaranteed farm operation loans. It also addresses up to 30% of the projected shortfall in funding for the program before the next fiscal year.

The FSA has guaranteed loans to 6,400 customers for farm ownership and operating purposes.
