Man Killed in Polk County Motorcyle Crash Indentified

POLK COUNTY, Iowa – Officials have identified the person killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle Monday night.

The crash happened at about 7 p.m. near the 14200 block of NE 74th Street. Investigators said an SUV traveling northbound on 74th Street was struck head-on by a southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, Gene Romero, 50, of Bondurant, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, Jade Robinson, 46, of Nevada, and two passengers were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
