Isolated Storms Wednesday Evening

DES MOINES, Iowa – A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for parts of Eastern Iowa until 10 p.m..

Skies will remain cloudy tonight with some isolated storms. A cold front is crossing the state tonight and could set off the isolated rain showers and storms again late tonight closer to midnight. There could be an isolated strong or severe storm but shear is limited so storm organization is not expected.

The heaviest of the rain has already moved through the state. It fell overnight in Northern Iowa where more than 2″ fell. Des Moines saw only a half inch today through the afternoon. Here are some of the highest totals:
