JOHNSTON, Iowa — Friends and family members are remembering an Urbandale man who was killed in a deadly motorcycle crash in July.

Sunday, Hope’s Angels held a memorial ride benefit for Matt Stoll and his wife Erica Stoll.

The two were out for a ride on Highway 65/69 and Summerset Road between Des Moines and Indianola when a truck turned in front of them. Stoll couldn’t stop in time and collided with the truck. He was killed and his wife was injured. She remains in critical condition.

All proceeds from Sunday’s ride will go to help the Stoll family.

“The outpouring of support and donations that we’ve received has been incredible. We cannot thank the community enough for stepping up and helping us out. The family is so appreciative. They cannot just say enough of the support that we’ve received,” said family friend Jodi Jensen.

Matt Stoll leaves behind three children.
