MARION COUNTY, Iowa — A Pella woman convicted in the drowning of her 13-month old daughter will face a judge for sentencing this week.

Twenty-eight-year-old Anna Sothman pleaded guilty to child endangerment causing death back in June.

Officials say Sothman’s daughter was left alone in the bathtub with running water for more than 30 minutes, while the mother was on the internet in her bedroom. Emergency crews tried to revive the little girl, but she later died at the hospital.

Sothman will appear for sentencing Friday at the Marion County Courthouse.
