WAUKEE, Iowa -- The Waukee Police Department is asking for help finding a suspect in a disturbing car vandalism case.

Police say on Sept. 16 around 1:30 a.m. someone smashed the windows out of a car parked in the 1000 block of Southeast Frontier Drive and spray-painted swastikas and other graffiti on the car.

"This is a situation we take very seriously based the type of graffiti that was on the vehicle and somebody that was potentially singled out. It's very important for us to hold someone accountable who took action against somebody else and damaged their property," said Detective Sgt. Jeremy Long with the Waukee Police Department.

A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.

The suspect or suspects face felony-level criminal mischief charges and potentially more depending on the motive behind the damage.
