AMES, Iowa -- The Ames Public Library closed on Wednesday after fleas were found inside the building.

Exterminators came in Wednesday evening. Thursday morning employees could be seen moving chairs back into place.

An ISU Entomologist told the City of Ames that he’d never heard of a library being infected with fleas.

The library re-opened two years ago, after a $20 million renewal project, which more than doubled the size of the building.

The library was open on Thursday.
