DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines officials showed off what they envision as the future for Water Works Park on Thursday night.
Future additions will hopefully transform the area along Fleur Drive into a destination park.
So far, $5 million of the $9 million needed for the project have been raised.
Plans include an amphitheater for small concerts, an underground tunnel connecting to Gray’s Lake, and electrical connections for food trucks.
It will also include what they call a “great lawn” for hosting large music festivals.
The goal is to break ground next year.
