Two College Students Injured in Weekend Ames Stabbing

AMES, Iowa — The Ames Police Department is investigating after two college students were stabbed early Saturday morning outside of a bar.

Police say it happened just after 1:00 a.m. in the 200 block of Stanton Avenue, outside of Es Tas Bar & Grill. The two were injured in a fight with another group. Two suspects in the stabbing fled the scene before police arrived. They were later located by police and questioned, though no arrests have been made in the case.

The injuries to the victims are not considered life-threatening but both did have to undergo surgery. They suffered wounds to the chest and abdomen.
