Drake Students’ Hopes Dashed as Drake Doesn’t Visit University

DES MOINES, Iowa -- From one side of Drake’s campus to the other, students had just one question.

Where is Drake?

The search for Drake, the rapper, took over Drake, the university.

In the weeks leading up to his concert, the social media campaign, #BringDraketoDrake, kicked into high gear.

And the student body felt confident their efforts had paid off.

“His Instagram account said ‘I’m gonna pull up on y`all’” said Thalia Anguiano.

As the hype grew, so did the crowd. What started as a few dozen, quickly turned into a thousand students.

All of those screams ended in one false alarm after another.

As the hours ticked by, the crowd began to thin out.

”I'm trying to keep a positive outlook and attitude,” said Anguiano. “There are still people out here with dedication and hope.”

But those hopes were dashed when the school received word Drake was a no-show, and this would be as close as they'd get to having Drake at Drake.
