DES MOINES, Iowa — More information about a deadly plane crash that killed two metro residents has been released.
Vincent Basile and his daughter Kelli died last month when their plane went down as it was attempting to land at the airport in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
A preliminary crash report shows the plane originally took off in Ankeny. Witnesses say as it landed, the plane touched down once then went back into the air. Soon after, it was seen making a sharp turn — up to 300 feet in the air. That’s when it quickly descended and crashed to the ground.
Both Vincent and Kelli lived in the metro. He worked at a machine shop and she worked for Waukee Schools.
