DES MOINES, Iowa — An early morning chase in a stolen vehicle landed a woman in the Polk County Jail Wednesday.

Police say 34-year-old Christine Bolanos was arrested after she tried to elude officers during a chase. It began around 3:15 a.m. when an officer spotted her driving a stolen car near SW 9th and Thomas Beck. The officer followed until back up arrived then tried to stop her on Fleur.

Bolanos took off, leading officers on a chase that ended near MLK and Carpenter after stop sticks were used to disable her tires. Police say she surrendered to them after the vehicle rolled to a stop.

Bolanos is facing charges of 2nd degree theft, 4th degree theft, carrying weapons, possession of a weapon as a felon, eluding, driving while license suspended, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and traffic charges.
