BREMER COUNTY, Iowa — The body of a Plainfield woman reported missing back in July is believed to have been found not far from her home.

KWWL reports the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office was contacted Wednesday afternoon about human remains being found near a home at 1477 120th Street, north of Horton. The body was discovered by a farmer while harvesting corn.

Official confirmation has not been made, but the investigation suggests the body belongs to 76-year-old Cloris Mehmen. The woman suffered from Alzheimer’s disease.

No foul play is suspected but an autopsy is being performed by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
