DES MOINES, Iowa -- One slice of memories of the Iowa State Fair will be on sale this weekend.

Dvorak Auction Company at 3920 Dixon in Des Moines has a group of signs pulled from the property of the late JoAnne Sample. She is the woman who was behind the stands at the Fair.

She and her husband founded Sample Concessions at fairs and festivals around Iowa. At the State Fair, she also operated Karla’s Korner and the Watermelon Stand. Her booth was there over 60 years.

"Everybody loves the state fair nostalgia and a lot of people really want to have a piece of it," said Helen Dvorak of Dvorak Auctions. "We are offering  up a bunch of signs, some food trucks, some neat pieces from the estate. I think people will be excited to see all the signs here in one place."

The auction will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. There will also be other items from her family estate which will be auctioned off.
