Authorities Locate Vehicle After Unattended Child Found in Galt

GALT, Iowa — Authorities have located a vehicle reportedly occupied by two people after finding an unattended child in Galt Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., the Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unattended child in Galt.

Deputies found a female who they believe to be approximately 2 years of age. She has shoulder length black hair with a ponytail in the back. She has brown eyes and is approximately 36 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds. At the time she was found, she was wearing pink pajamas and no shoes.

The child was transported by Clarion Ambulance Service to Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Authorities were initially looking for a blue Honda minivan with a black rubber strip on the side that was seen in the Galt area shortly before the child was found. The van has been located by police.
