Lock Down Lifted At Ohio State University

COLUMBUS, Ohio  —  The lock down has been lifted at Ohio State University and all classes have been cancelled for the day following an attack near campus this morning.

The attack was initially reported as a shooting.  However police now say a man crashed into a crowd of people with a car then began slashing at them with a knife.  Ten people were taken from the scene by ambulance including one who is in critical condition.  The suspect was killed.

The university announced the all-clear on Twitter about two hours after the incident was initially reported.

The original alert from the school came just before 8:00am Central time.  Students were urged to “Run Hide Fight” in the area of Watts Hall.
