DES MOINES, Iowa–There’s no more speculation as to whether Iowa Governor Terry Branstad will talk to President-Elect Donald Trump about becoming the U.S. Ambassador to China. There’s no more speculation because the governor ended it. He did that by confirming that he will meet with Trump in New York, either Tuesday or Wednesday.

“We have a tentative appointment but we don’t know for sure exactly when it’s going to be,” Branstad said Monday, “Obviously, the president-elect’s schedule is very busy and it changes.”

The governor already had a three-day trip to New York scheduled to seek economic development possibilities for the state.
