Child Dies In Fire In Perry

PERRY, Iowa  —  A child has died in a house fire near the town of Perry.

Fire officials were called to rural home at 8:23am on Thursday.  When they arrived they found the home fully engulfed in flames and a child trapped inside.  Firefighters were unable to reach the child.  The child’s name hasn’t been released.

The State Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.  Perry, Rippey, Grand Junction and Jefferson fire departments all responded.
