Five Arrested Following Credit Union Robbery

Police respond after Tradesmen Credit Union robbed Wednesday morning. (WHO-HD)

DES MOINES, Iowa – Five people are in custody following a robbery at a credit union Wednesday morning.

It happened at the Tradesmen Community Credit Union at 1400 2nd Ave. shortly after 9:00 a.m. Police say four men entered the building and demanded money. One of the men displayed a gun.

Credit union employees were able to provide a good description of the suspects and the vehicle they got away in. Officers located the vehicle near 6th and Corning, where five men were taken into custody.

Sgt. Paul Parizek says the robbery was, “not well planned.”

Police have not yet released the names of the suspects.
