ELLSWORTH, Iowa- The new Love’s Truck Stop has opened in the town of Ellsworth. The company built the facility after it was turned down for zoning in nearby Story city.
Love’s has 48 employees at the present time, and will add more employees in 5 weeks when a new tire/mechanic shop opens.
“It’s organized chaos it’s a learning experience for me,” said Ross Eveland, the story General Manager. “We’re opening about 40 stores 45 stores this year, we’ve got a good crew I’ve had a lot of help.”
The huge truck stop has 100 parking spaces, something which is important to truck drivers.
“It’s a different world these guys live on the road we’re basically their house, for a lot of these guys,” said Eveland. “We have all their basic needs for shower needs, to food, bathroom, we have a Hardee’s.
The Love’s facility also carries toys for Christmas gifts, for over the road truckers who may not have time to get to the mall or a big box store to get some gifts.
