JOHNSTON, Iowa  --  The walk to school is getting a bit safer for some students in Johnston.

City leaders teamed up with police and the school district to put taller stop signs at intersections near schools.

They say the signs are on both sides of the street so everyone can see them, and will replace the shorter, roll-out signs seen in the image.
