Former Cyclone basketball player Abdel Nader was named MVP of the NBA D-league Friday afternoon.

Nader, who was often overshadowed at Iowa State, averaged 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game for the Maine Red Claws.

Nader was drafted in the 2nd round of last years NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics.
